Baton Rouge
selected as one of the top 10 tennis towns in the United States
The USTA asked cities around
America if their city has what it takes to be the Best Tennis
Town. A total of 56 communities including Baton Rouge entered
the contest.
Each community submitted one video showing the Community's
spirit and passion for tennis and the impact of tennis on an
individual, an organization and/or the Community as a whole.
Letters of recommendation were also submitted by community
members, businesses and the Mayor. The winners were determined
by the general public in a month long online vote during the
summer. The city of Baton Rouge was selected as one of the top
10 tennis towns in the United States and received an Honorable
Mention award. The city was awarded with a $2,000 tennis
equipment package to be used for increasing community wide
tennis programming. To view the video and letters of submission
