"Go West Young Man" - Tuesday, June 12, 2012
Howard Kuntz just celebrated his 94th birthday by playing in the USTA National Indoors and USTA National Hardcourts held on the West Coast. He brought home a Gold Ball for winning the 90s Indoor Doubles and three Bronze Balls for finishing 3rd in Singles at both events and 3rd in Doubles at Hardcourts. Not bad for a man who hasnít been able to play tournament tennis for the last two years.

Born in New Orleans in 1918, Howard graduated from Tulane then served in the Middle East during WW2 where he attained the rank of full Colonel. After retirement he took up tennis seriously at the age of 57 and before long he was starting to make his mark on the tennis world.
His first big tournament win was at the National Senior Olympics in the 75s. He won the World Doubles Championship in the 85s and represented the US on the prestigious Talbert Cup team in Europe.

Howard has ranked as high as #2 in the country and just recently defeated the #1 ranked player in the US not once but twice! Keep an eye out for Howard as he has served notice that he is BACK!!!
